St Paul's Church Extension

St Paul's Church Extension, North London

Some months ago we were asked to prepare an outline design for a new lobby to a church in North London. The lobby was meant to have a welcoming feel and be a multi-use space that could function as a café, and a gathering place for church services and events. The current lobby to the church is so small that people have to wait outside before entering.

Our concept design was inspired by the Lancet window over the current entrance. By forming two roofs in the same shape, and leaving a skylight to view the new window, we were hinting at the Triquetra – symbol of the Holy Trinity. The project is currently on hold, but we hope to move on with it when funding is in place.
