Joaquim Rocha,

Joaquim graduated Architecture in Portugal in 2004, his native country where he also began his career in a small practice.

Before he arrived in the UK in 2012, he worked and spent 3 fantastic years in Madrid, Spain. However the Spanish financial crisis and his desire to improve his career and skills made him move country.

In the UK he has worked in a small architectural practice specialising in residential buildings before he started working along structural engineers. At Ramboll he got involved in some exciting international projects and developed his structural engineering and BIM knowledge.

Joaquim is from Barcelos, a small town known as the Portuguese Handicraft Capital. It is here where the unofficial symbol of Portgual, the Barcelos Rooster, was created.

In his spare time, Joaquim enjoys meeting his friends and playing sports. His favourite being running and swimming. He likes to listen to music and is a big fan of Bossa Nova. He is also a big fan of Brazilian culture. Joaquim loves to travel and is always looking out for the next destination.

Joaquim left Cooley Architects in 2023 and is now working for Northlight Architects as an Associate Architect
