Mateo Bazataqui Garnelo

Mateo Bazataqui Garnelo,

Architectural Assistant
BA (Hons) Architecture & Interior Designer

Mateo is a creative individual who graduated from an Interior Design course in EINA School of Design & Art, Barcelona in 2011. Following that he decided to move to London for some time to learn English. Two years later he found himself studying Architecture in Central Saint Martins University, from which he graduated in Summer 2016. During and in between courses he was working in different firms of Architecture, Construction and Interior Design in both Spain and the UK. All of that busy time gave him great training and the ability to create and develop concepts, problem solving skills and an excellent spatial vision. Mateo’s training gave him the skills to find the easiest solutions to complex problems. He loves challenges and considers himself highly ambitious.

He is from Melilla, an “unknown” Spanish city in North Africa (yes, Spain in Africa), where he spent most of his life. He also lived in Cordoba, where some of his family are based. Mateo grew up in a family of artists, interior designers and architects, which made him feel attached to and interested in the industry, and trained him from a very early age. He also spent many days of his life in a boat, which made him fall in love with the sea. He likes sea life and he feels very attracted to sharks. Along with this, Mateo loves dogs, specially the chunky ones! In his time off, he enjoys socializing and having some good food in a nice place with nice company. He is dreamer who has fantasized in having a fancy car since he was a boy, but he believes that one day he will certainly get it.
